Match Reports :

Sunday 29th March 2009 :

Hempnall under 13 travelled to Loddon this week and things didnt go as well as expected to start with when Loddon took the lead.  After that Hempnall tried to attack but Ciaran, Olly, Jamie and Zack all saw their shots saved before a lovely cross from Ciaran found Daniel F who put the ball in the net to make the score at half time 1 - 1.  After the break the Hempnall boys came out more positive and playing their style of football and Jamie made it 2 - 1.  Olly once again popped up and headed a goal from a corner and James scored a brace to make it 5 - 1.  Alex made a great save at the other end.  Max and Ciaran were unlucky to see their shots go just wide of the mark.  Hempnall finished the game winning 5 - 1.

Sunday 8th March 2009

Hempnall entertained Loddon this week at home.  Hempnall started off a bit sluggish and Loddon had the better of them for a few minutes.  Caiaran put in a lovely run and Zak was unlucky not to score.  Billy then made in 1 - 0.  Hempnall then played some lovely football and once again from a corner up popped Olly to make it 2 - 0 at half time.  In the second half Jamie was unlucky twice with one shot hitting the cross bar.  In a goal mouth scramble another shot was cleared off the line.  Full marks to the Loddon defenders.  Billy then scored his second of the match and Dan F scored to make it 4 - 0.    Billy saw another shot go just over before James scored in a goal mouth scramble.  Ciaran, who keeps running whatever, scored a well deserved goal to make it 6 - 0.  Alex made a fantastic save before James scored his second to make the final score 7 - 0.  Another good performance from Hempnall and credit to Loddon who played well the whole match.

Sunday 1st March 2009 :

Hempnall Under 13 travelled to Harleston for this local derby, which could have been a classic with Harleston top of the league and Hempnall second.  Unfortunately it was far from a classic.  Hempnall took the lead through an own goal but Harleston scored to make it 1 - 1 at half time.  James then scored from a free kick and Jamie scored to make it 3 - 1 to Hempnall.  After that it seemed to be a free for all with Harleston making some very bad tackles which left one of the boys hardly able to walk.  Billy was clear on goal but was fouled on the edge of the box.  With all the injuries Harleston managed to score a second, and after another tackle this time two footed which left the Hempnall player unable to walk and having to go to hospital it was obvious that Harleston were going to score another, especially as the referee played quite a lot over time.  The final score was 3 - 3.  The Hempnall players can hold their heads high as they did try to play football - unfortunately the same cannot be said about some of the Harleston team.  We wish all the injured players well.

Sunday 22nd February 2009

Hempnall under 13 travelled to Halesworth this week knowing that they could leapfrog Halesworth if they won.  Hempnall started lively and Jamie, Tom, Billy and Ciaran were unlucky not to score with Ciaran hitting the post.  At half time the score was a surprising 0 - 0.  At the start of the second half Billy scored but Halesworth came back with two quick goals. Hempnall didn't let their heads drop though and James then scored to level. Hempnall then turned on the pressure and Olly scored a header from a corner. Billy then wrapped up the game with his second.  There were also some good saves from keeper Alex.  All the boys battled for the whole match and were a credit to manager Tim.  Well done.
