Waveney 0 Hempnall 9
Hempnall’s visit to Waveney saw them needing a victory to secure their position as League Champions and promotion. They achieved it and some! Shaen-Carter opened the scoring after ten minutes and quickly added a second out of his eventual five. Lilley started the game on a mission, rounding the keeper after 20 minutes and going on to put away a further two for a well-earned hat-trick and vote for Man of the Match. Hempnall’s football flowed fluently and again, the boys got the ball down and worked well off each other, creating chance after chance. Solid defending kept out the hosts with keeper Moss having another quiet game. Blazey claimed the ninth goal, which spun and twisted from his shot finding the net. With three games left to play and the League already won the boys can hold their heads high. They finished as they started, hard-working and professional, never giving up, as only one defeat all season proves, they definitely are the champions.
