Saturday 17th March 2010 :
Hempnall Hunnies v Horsford
A beautiful Saturday morning saw the Hunnies dominate from the first whistle. A change of tactics and positions saw Lucy as the first striker and scoring an excellent goal, creating opportunities for more. The midfield saw the two Katies combine with Alana, drafted forward from her defensive role. The pace made it difficult for Horsford to defend against and time and time again Hempnall pressured the Horsford goal, with only some excellent goalkeeping keeping out the efforts of Lucy, Alana and the Katies. Holly switched with Lucy and began making her presence felt, her skill and determination earning her a further two goals to add to the Hempnall scoresheet. The partnership of Beth, Shannon and then Katie B, made sure Lucy had little to do at the back. The introduction of Sammy saw her play her best game yet, getting involved and growing in confidence, and resulted in her scoring the fourth goal and securing her Girl of the Game.

Saturday 27th March 2010 :
Fakenham Girls v Hempnall Hunnies
Hempnall's trip to Fakenham saw a much improved home team from their initial meeting early in the season. Hempnall started brightly and Taylor soon opened the scoring with a blast into the top corner. With the return of Katie S, options opened up on the wing with her pace creating several opportunities. Despite several good chances only one goal remained the difference for quite some time. Hempnall's concentration slipped and elementary mistakes and positioning allowed Fakenham to continually push forward and poor marking gave them the equaliser, struck from the half-way line. The game continued in stalemate then, after a goal-mouth skirmish, Lucy put away the second for Hempnall. The second half saw Hempnall still panicking on the ball and getting caught on their heels. In the last 15 minutes Hempnall finally settled and played some nice passing and quick football, with Lucy, Holly, Katie S & Taylor linking up, resulting in two well worked goals from Taylor, adding another hat-trick to her tally to put the result out of reach for Fakenham and securing all three points. Girl of the Game was Katie B for continuing her effort, improvement and determination match by match. Hempnall Hunnies continue on the run to become league runners-up.
Fakenham 1 Hempnall Hunnies 4 Saturday 23rd January 2010 :
Rickinghall Gunners v Hempnall
A Happy New Year to all the girls and, despite the long Christmas lay-off, due to bad weather, Hempnall began the new year with a terrific win, bringing them joint second in the league table. In a well-balanced game Hempnall battled forwards strongly, with some good connecting play between Lucy, Taylor and Katie in midfield, looking for Holly up front. A penalty broke the deadlock, blasted home by Taylor, her first of four awesome goals. A 3-0 lead in the first half was diminished within a minute of the second half kick-off following a moment of indecision and switching off by Hempnall. Alana and Beth rode the storm at the back as Rickinghall tried time and again to close the gap. Lily in goal blocked shot after shot before Hempnall reasserted their dominance when a blast from Katie S found the corner of the net. In the last two minutes the return of a substituted Taylor saw her put away her 4th goal to make the score 1-5. An excellent squad performance.
Rickinghall Gunners 1 Hempnall Hunnies 5 Saturday 28th November 2009 :
Horsford v Hempnall
An excellent start to Hempnall's first meeting with Horsford saw Katie B score within the first minutes of the game. With no subs and Shannon, although suffering from illness, playing her heart out up front, Hempnall continued to apply pressure, especially from the corners. Shannon scored her first of two, Taylor added two more and Lucy made it six with goalie Lily keeping a clean sheet. Although Hempnall dominated most of the game they had periods of lapses of concentration, with Alana pushing forwards leaving Beth struggling against 3 attackers. Her cool and calm approach constantly kept the Horsford attack at bay, winning her the vote for Girl of the Game. Horsford's one opportunity from a penalty was spectactularly denied by a diving one-hand save from Lily. An excellent comeback after their defeat in the Cup game.

Saturday 21st November 2009 :
Costessey Girls v Hempnall Girls
Hempnall travelled to Costessey, confident but a bit subdued in the second round of the Cup against a team in the league above. Hempnall started slow, allowing Costessey to constantly press forward, keeping Alana, Beth and Lily very busy in defense. Hempnall rode their luck to the break keeper Lily and a goal line clearance by Taylor kept the score at 0-0. In the 2nd half Hempnall raised their game, Lucy, Taylor and Katie began surging forward to support Holly and taking the game to the home team. Both sides created chance after chance but frustratingly the score remained at 0-0. 20 mins of extra time and intense football followed and the match went to penalties. 6 heroes went for their first ever penalty shoot-out, Captain, Lucy, bravely stepped forward to take the first, followed by Taylor, Katie, Holly and Alana. Despite their well-struck efforts they went out of the competition by only 1-0. Keeper Lily was awsome under pressure, only letting a single goal past her and deservedly earned her Girl of the Game. Final Score : Costessey Girls 1 Hempnall 0
